Floh #FridayFriends: Pushkar Gaikwad

What’s special about Floh is that it is a very strong and tightly knit community. In an attempt to spotlight those that make up this community, we introduce to you – Friday Friends!

Pushkar Gaikwad actually wrote us a very sweet email that compelled us to call him and feature him on this list.

Guys, I just met you
And this is crazy
I liked the concept of FFF
So list me maybe?

Let me share my story
with Floh members
here is my email
So mail me maybe?

Though I avoid limelight,
and concept of FFF is little hazy,
if nothing more,
I will connect with some good friends maybe?

Say hello to Pushkar Gaikwad, our enthusiastic and poetic (in a boy band kind of way) Friday Friend.

Tell us about what you do professionally.
Well, I am part of a startup in Bangalore. It’s a very small team that is bootstrapped. I’ve been running startups for a while now. I have learnt a lot in the process, sometimes, even talking about startups and entrepreneurship as a speaker at events. I like sharing my experience and growing from it.

When was the last time you Googled yourself and what came up?
I Googled myself this morning. But it’s also the nature of the work. The usual fare came up: my own blog, my LinkedIn profile. And I noticed that I have been using the same photo as my profile picture everywhere for the last 2 years!

Have you always been in Bangalore? What do you think of the city?
It’s been 6 years for me in Bangalore. Primarily, I’m from Bhopal. But I needed a permanent base in a major city. I came here for a conference and decided to stay put.

Where would you like to go for dinner on date night?
The restaurant, Chianti in Bangalore, either Indiranagar or Koramangala.

What were your favourite cartoons or games growing up?
In fact, right now, I Dream Of Jeannie is streaming on my laptop. I used to spend 8 hours a day as a growing kid, watching cartoons and playing cricket.

What is your association with cricket today?
My love is lost for cricket. After Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement, I retired from watching cricket.
I prefer watching football now and I’m waiting for the upcoming English Premier League.

If you were a superhero, who would it be?
I would be Deadpool! The personality matches me very well.
