Floh #FridayFriends: Piyusha Vir

What’s special about Floh is that it is a very strong and eclectic community. In an attempt to spotlight those that make up this community, we feature them in our intiative – Friday Friends!

Kicking off November is Piyusha Vir.

Piyusha is a full-time writer and blogger. She quit her day job last year to pursue writing full-time. She has a travel blog – Wandering Soul where she writes travel articles and short stories. Many of her articles have been published in various websites and e-magazines.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Delhi but have very fond memories of my childhood spent at my nani’s place in Jaipur.

Piyusha Vir

Did your profession choose you or did you choose your profession?
Most certainly, it was my current profession that chose me. Took me thirty-plus years to discover my calling but I guess better late than never. 🙂

What is your style quotient?
It’s comfy yet stylish.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I was an ambitious kid. I wanted to be an air hostess and a neurosurgeon at different stages of my life. Ultimately, I became none of those things!

When was the last time you googled yourself and what was the most bizarre thing that surfaced?
Yesterday. Except for my blog, everything else came up. Including some health recipe from a certain Dr. Piyush Saxena!

Is there a celebrity’s life that you envy?
Although I realise that being a celebrity is a tough job and has its perils, I love and am fascinated by the glamour and fame that comes with it. I don’t envy any one celebrity but the whole package of being a celebrity as such.

Tell us about one of your quirks.
I have a wacky sense of humour.

The book on your bedside right now.
Child/God by Ketan Bhagat and On Writing by Stephen King.

What is your tech peeve?
I hate that the new phones are all touch screen. It causes so many typos and autocorrect that “I’ll reach in less than ten.” becomes “I’ll teach you a lesson”.

If you could ask for a gift from someone, what would it be?
A million dollars every month for the rest of my life. 😀 But since money doesn’t buy everything, may be a magic wand which would make every wish of mine come true.

The last movie that had you crying tears of laughter or made you very emotional.
My Fair Lady always cracks me up when I watch it. Bajrangi Bhaijaan made me emotional.

The restaurant you would like to go to for date night.
The Embassy in Connaught Place, Delhi. I absolutely love their Fried Fish and Chicken Supreme.
I wouldn’t mind it at all if my partner were to be a hot-shot chef or restaurant owner. 😀

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?
Beating my father hollow in video games. 😀

The place you would save up to travel to.
Moon! Just so I can say I’ve been to the moon and back. 🙂 I’m a nomad at heart. I love to travel (have a travel blog, remember!) hence, one place wouldn’t be enough. The list is quite long.
