Single in the city

Why is it so difficult to meet like-minded people?

Last week the NYT published a thought provoking piece, “Why is it hard to make friends over 30?” The article went on to say that the three conditions considered crucial to making close friends are proximity; repeated, unplanned interactions; and a setting that encourages people to let their guard down and confide in each other”.

Wherever you are in the world, the fact remains that if you’re single and over 25, it’s really difficult to make friends, let alone get into a meaningful relationship with someone on the same wavelength. This is where Floh plays a pivotal role.

Our focus at Floh is to get our members to meet with each other in person at fun and unique experiences. A sampling of our productions include cookouts with Chef Manu Chandra at Olive, grape stomping at the Grover Vineyard, a Floh Paintball League or our flagship event, the annual Floh Vintage and Classic Car experience. We also organize Floh Rendezvous – an opportunity for six Floh members, three ladies and three gentlemen, to meet for a lunch or dinner at a distinctive restaurant in the city.

Since every single person in Floh is screened before gaining access to the network, you’re sure that you will get to meet like-minded folks in a safe environment here. And since most of the folks you meet will be from your city, there’s a great opportunity for you to connect with them after you meet at Floh. Our approach is to ensure that the interaction is serendipitous, safe and fun. Just like the NYT suggests.
